What Is Dutching?

Dutching is a betting technique that involves placing more than one bet on a single market across multiple bookmakers. This has the advantage of increasing the chances of your winning your bet, and in some cases it may allow you to lock in a profit by covering all possible outcomes within a market. Dutching can be used on pretty much any sport, but its level of success and risk will depend on the number of possible outcomes in the market in question and the odds of each selection. Dutching can also be used as part of a Matched Betting strategy, and can be particularly useful for taking advantage of tennis offers.

What Is An Early Payout?

This is an offer that pays out as soon as a certain event happens in a match or event - e.g. if a team goes 2 goals up in a football match, or if a player goes 2 sets up in a tennis match.

How To Use This Calculator

This calculator is most likely to be useful for tennis early payout offers, where the bettor has opted to dutch their bet instead of using standard Matched Betting (a wise decision, due to tennis retirement rules).

First, enter the details of your dutched bet into the 'qualifying bets' section of the calculator (using the bookie with the early payout offer as Bookie A). The calculator will tell you your optimal stakes in order to produce the same result no matter the outcome of the event, as well as providing a breakdown of your position depending on whether your selection has gone 2UP, and the decisions you've made.

If your selection does go 2UP, you can then use the 'Lock-in/Cash Out Bet) section of the calculator to if you want to take advantage of your position, or alternatively you can let the bet play out if you're hoping for a full turnaround (i.e. for your selection to fail to win despite their lead).

If you choose to use the 'Lock-in/Cash Out Bet' section, you first need to choose an option. To lock-in, you'll need to place another back bet on your selection (the one that has gone 2UP) with a third bookmaker, in order to cancel out your Bookie B bet. To cash out, you will simply use the cash out option with Bookie B to cancel your bet. Either option is fine, but you may find that one or the other produces better results.
